Title: Osyrian Event Followup
Orin - March 27, 2007 03:58 PM (GMT)
Heres the thread for the followup on the Osyrian event we had on the 26th. Thoughts? Comments? Heres mine.
We had a great event. Unfortunately, there were some noshows which evened out the numbers to around 20 but that's alright. I think the highest point in the event is the Grand Melee circles we did. Those were great with all those people, and I hate to admit it but it did start to go a little downhill with the length of the first quest, and it may have been our fault but the second quest would have been better if we had intercepted the cloud of angry Black Marauders. :D
I'd also like to thank my mother for generously taking care of the food aspect of the event. Next event i'm hoping to take better care of water supplies. I'll have more gallons of water readily available and refilled much more frequently.
As for now, im sitting here recouperating from the event. Me and Silence are going to try to create some Garb while I scower Ebay high and low for a full leather bodysuit of armor. Also, now that we actually have weapons (Thanks Ben), we are going to start having some local training meetings where as suggested, I will take absolutely no crap. I'm going to start (metaphorically) beating maturity into them, and were going to excersize a little bit at each event. By the next merge event I will hopefully have a group of fighters, not highschoolers. ;)
Next event I believe we will have more fighters since I think they are hooked.
I'd also like to welcome Garret, and Jordan into Osyria, and Entalon. Both promising warriors I think. I will train them with as much knowledge as I have.

Just commenting about this:
" I will take absolutely no crap. I'm going to start (metaphorically) beating maturity into them, and were going to excersize a little bit at each event. By the next merge event I will hopefully have a group of fighters, not highschoolers. "
Well Orin last time I checked we were highschoolers not fighters. And your gonna beat maturity into us? It sounds painful. :(
I enjoyed all the grand melee circles we did too. I also agree that the first quest was a bit too long considering noone had pencil or paper. And i think the quest wasnt that rewarding. I think the npcs actually had more fun than the actual players, considering they got to make excuses to get us all in the back when they pleased.

you have to give it time, yes that event part with the goblins was long but it was the test so to say.. also thoes goblin where kill able by other then magic if oyu wacthed..
In this game there is always a way to kill somthing some times.. if it really comes at you, you should be able ot kill it some how just the matter is finding out how with out dieing.
2ndly you guys may be highschoolers but that is no reason to be crazy to some points. I am all up for good fun but when it comes to crazyness there is a limit..
Realms is for Fun and safety at doing it pick a path of spell or fighter combo and go at it.. If any of yea have played D&D or any other d20 or d10 system just in event be ion char.. this was your frist so i understand i learned well to after a few events...
Give it time for you to pick your character out.. and who ya want to be and what.. it is much more fun then..
All thoes who like being Fighters and Caster one of these times soon after you guys learn the spell system or Next time we are up there I want to give ever one a try at magic so you know what you like.. If Not i will talk to Jason on Monday and Tell him a good thing to run and let ou guys try out. get you really in to the game..
Event will Very in things we do.. after you guys Pick what you all want to be and hammer it out trust me Will be MUCH MUCH more fun then Mindless fighting..
Just Remeber This is Like other games you can Die... You character can come back after alot of work but your "friends in character" will have to want you back lol. theer is no save or Reset button here..
ok /rant off

I was joking Andres. I'm not going to beat anything into you, but what I ment is that while in character, you should never be highschoolers. I just ment I wanted to train some of the guys to be logical. what I mean by this is that they need to use their head in character, and out of character to make sure we keep the game fun, safe, and fun for everyone.
The extent of the excersize will probably be stretching, and maybe one short distance run, if at all so don't worry. Glad to see you being active here. Do you know what you want to be yet?

oh, shucks. I was looking forward to a beating. Oh well, I guess I'll have to settle.
"god I miss the screamin'".
Free food is good. Like food. MMMMM.
We have officially corrupted the Osyrians, I think. Does that make us Greeks or Romans?

I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE TO BE CORRUP- mmmm, foooood
but on a slightly more serious note, i agree that we should try to be more than chickens running around trying not to get their heads cut off
